Plus, the song that triggered this thought spiral in the hopes you follow your own path to being unapologetically YOU. After all, you're alive, and you only have one wild and precious life. 💫
I’m officially a fan of your music! The first Song I heard I loved and this one is great too! I love that it is something I haven’t heard before, no predicable chorus, just pure emotion. It reminds me a bit of Kate Bush but that may just be your voice.
That’s the goal for sure, to explore with different sounds and journeys to see where it goes.
And yesss — you got it!! Kate Bush was the jumping off point for this song, that’s so cool that it comes across. I grew up with my mum blasting her so it’s had a big influence!
Thanks for all the kind words, it really means a lot 😊✨
Oh, Lucy, this is just fabulous. To say that I resonated with it is…um…an understatement. Really beautifully told - and then a song to share to sum it up?? Killer. Also, your “rough” demos are, um, wildly accomplished. At some point, someday, we owe each other a drink. Here are your clues: Barn, Livestock Fairs, Old Piano annoying the family…and to top it off “Under Milkwood”. (You might have to Google that one!). Great stuff. Hope you’re enjoying this Substack ride.. :)
Ah Daniel - thank you so much!! It means a lot that you’d take the time to read it, and for your kind words - thank you!
If I’m reading the clues correctly, your surname would also be a giveaway, correct? Haha (Unless I’m completely down the wrong rabbit hole!). We also had a couple of horses, one named ‘Dylan, the other Thomas’ so the Under Milkwood makes total sense over here!! Thanks for being here, I looking forward to seeing more of your work 😊✨
Ha! Yes! I was cows, not horses, but the Thomas reference and last name gave the last bit away. :). My sweet dad, also an actor/writer/director is adapting the play (he’s done it four times!) - and envisions traditional Welsh music woven throughout. We sat around the table the other day and read through some - so very lovely..! :)
Amazing!! Ah I love that, how special that you’re able to connect doing what you love together, that’s so cool, and the Welsh music throughout sounds beautiful! 😍
Way to go Lucy! “Breathe Me Back To Life” is a great song and I really like it! Keep going!
Thanks so much Jon, appreciate it!!

Thank you so much for reading and listening Jeff! 😊
Wow what a beautiful intimate song Lucy - I love everything about it and what a great story to tee it up : ).
Ah Robyn!! Thank you! So great to see you here ♥️✨
